Lowbit Reliquary
8-bit iconography and zines. A cabinet of lovingly-curated sprite sheets, tile atlases, and the scanned margins of games-magazine readers.

Every artifact is catalogued, dated, and attributed to the best of our ability. Nothing is for sale. Everything is for looking at.
# current display
"Sprites of the Unused Level" — a hanging of 47 enemy sprites cut from the final build of Hydra Runner '89. Recovered from a third-party preservation tape in 2024.
# recent acquisitions
- a 16×16 idle-loop of a lighthouse keeper, palette limited to 4 greys
- a tile set of mossy bricks with a single missing tile (the artist died before completing it)
- 27 unused portraits from a cancelled detective adventure titled Night Shift '92
- a zine cover rendered entirely in U+2588 blocks, 80×50
# curator's note
preservation is not nostalgia. it is the refusal to let a palette die just because the hardware did.
We run on donated NAS drives and good will. If you have a tape, a floppy, or a screenshot you want looked at, write to curator [at] lowbit.reliquary.
